Penis enlargement surgery involves cutting a ligament that helps suspend the penis. This severing usually results in a 1/2 inch gain to penis size with no increase in girth. A spacer is usually inserted to prevent the ligament from reattaching itself. Unfortunately because the ligament is cut, the erect penis usually will then point downward instead of the usual upward curve associated with a normal penis. According to a recent study only 25% of those who have undergone the procedure were satisfied with the results. This is not good news for an undertaking that costs usually upwards of $10,000, comes with no guarantee and is ripe with potential complications. Such complications can include infections, sensitivity loss due to nerve damage.
Another penis enlargement medical procedure involves transplanting fat cells from elsewhere on the body into the penis to increase girth. Unfortunately this procedure can result in a penis with a visual look described as 'lumpy'.
